I still exist. Best holiday wishes to you all!

This has been a quiet year in here on my part. I did a lot of new things in the world they call real, none of which turned out the way I expected. It wasn't pretty for a while, but then it got better. It got better when I stopped caring so much. I'm not sure that's a valuable lesson. I'm not sure of anything, really. I've never been more adrift in my life, and it seems the current is determined to take me somewhere else, no matter how hard I paddle. This, also, is not something I'm entirely pleased with, but such is this peculiar existence of ours. Still, you can't take the sky from me, as the song goes. Yeah, I'm still a nerd, some things never change.

I'm determined to do better than this in 2015. So, happy New Year to all of you. See you on the other side.

They changed the layout again, it's so... Wait, I think I may be getting too old to care.

I lost a very good friend today. He was younger than I am, but he had been sick for a long time. It is hard to extract any meaning from something that feels so unfair, but I owe it to him to try. He always found a silver lining, even when he was in great pain. In many ways, he was far stronger than I will ever be.

Don't waste your lives. Try to do things that matter to you and the people you love. Little things count. My friend was a master of those.

Be the best person you can be, and forgive yourself for all the mistakes you will inevitably make. Life is too short for beating yourself up all the time. I am a master of that.
